Since 1964, ElectropedicBeds.com has made "Your Comfort Is Everything!" our only business. Today we are Authorized Dealers of OVER 500 Different Electric Medical Home Care Models. Each of the Models we sell is usually a little too complicated, important and costly to simply buy online without first talking to an Equipment Specialist. We believe that selling is simply finding the Right Product at the Right Price for our Customers. After 45 years, we must be doing something right! Please call our Equipment Lift Specialist, Elaine Latham at (800)477-0248 . . . You'll be Glad You Did!
Patient Lifts: When there is a disabled person that needs to be constantly transferred, a Patient Lift (or Hoyer Patient Lift) is needed to assist with the transfer. Caregivers need to protect their backs, and patients are much more content. There is no longer a struggle to make the move from one place to another. The most popular type of Patient lift is a Battery operated, it not only is easier for the caregiver but the Patient has a smooth transfer. Hydraulic lifts are also available however but they do have to be pumped and if handling a lot of weight is uncomfortable for both the Caregiver and the Patient. Crank lifts are no longer available.
Travel Lifts: If you want to have a lift that is able to fold and be stored in a closet or can travel in a car or on a plane there are several choices. You can now have one lift that does it all.
Types of Lifts: There are three basic types of patient lifts: mobile lifts, overhead lifts and sit-to-stand lifts. Today, many overhead lifts, are often installed when new hospitals, nursing homes, etc. are built; also in homes as some patients can help themselves once they are in their sling. This is more expensive but for a long term use has to be considered and certainly worth investigation.
Slings: Together with a patient lift, some type of sling, normally made of textile fabric such as cotton or polyester, is used. Slings are available in many different models and variants for optimal function in different lifting situations e.g. lifting to/from bed, to/from the toilet, or bathing. There are special slings for special needs, with and without a head support. Whatever the need we can usually find the solution for you.
The main rationale for using patient lifts is to prevent occupational injuries that can be caused by repeated manual lifting. Normally, much consideration is also given to the patient's comfort and well being. Today, the use of patient lifts is considered a more dignified means of transferring a patient than manual lifting and transfer. In today's world many families are now the caregivers of their loved ones and can easily cause long term damage without the proper equipment to help them with their chores.
There are a handful of manufacturers of patient lifts that address the needs of the patient from Children to the Bariatric patient.
Since 1964, Electropedic® has never lost sight of the fact that our success is built upon customer satisfaction. Before you buy a Patient Lift many criteria and factors have to be addressed. Please feel free to call our Patient Lift Specialists, Elaine Latham at (800) 477-0248.
We always guarantee the best price on the patient lift that will be best and safest for your needs.
First, we have to address several factors to help you select the right patient lift.
How much does the Patient Weigh? (Bariatric heavy duty patient lifts are our specialty!)
How tall is the Patient?
How old is the Patient?
What type of Disability does the Patient have?
When transferring to and from a bed the legs of the lift have to go underneath the bed (Five inches of clear space is needed for a safe transfer.)
If you do not have the space, there is a lift that addresses this problem and is placed behind the head and at the side of the bed for the proper balance.
Do you only have trouble standing and need assistance? There are several lifts made for that purpose. There is a new lift that addresses many needs. This is for someone that needs assistance standing, and has trouble walking from room to room. The lift has a seat so the patient is comfortable and feels secure. The caregiver can move the patient from room to room, instead of using a bulky Wheelchair. This lightweight unit can fit through the narrowest of doors and is compact and lightweight enough to travel.
Spa, Pool and Bath Lifts: There are different lifts that will allow the patient to operate themselves. There are special lifts for bathtubs. Maybe you just need a lift to help you in and out of the tub and you want to soak and cannot get up. We have the answer and yes some of them are battery operated.
Once you own the right patient lift you will find that you will be able to access areas that before were too difficult.
Call Now! I will be happy to help you with any of your needs. We have been in business for 45 years and we guarantee the lowest price for the right unit.
